There is a moment Melanie carries with her into every coaching session. In her most uncertain season, someone held an umbrella over her. Not to clear the fog. Just to walk with her through it. That moment showed her what it means to truly be seen. It is why she became a coach. And it is why she keeps showing up.
With over 17 years of HR experience spanning SMEs, MNCs and startups, and currently serving as a Global HR Director in the tech industry, Melanie has spent her career working alongside people at every level — from fresh graduates finding their footing to C-suite leaders navigating the weight of the room. She has seen what it looks like when people thrive. And she has seen what it looks like when they are holding everything together on the outside while quietly running on empty.
Her coaching practice reflects that breadth. Her clients span students and retirees, homemakers and entrepreneurs, people at career crossroads and couples feeling a distance they cannot quite name. What they have in common is not a specific problem. It is the sense that something feels off, and the courage to finally say so.
Melanie’s approach is genuine, curious and non-judgmental. She loves deep conversations and sitting with someone in the silence. She will not give you answers. But she will help you hear yourself, including the parts you have not been ready to say out loud.
Outside of coaching, she is an avid hiker who finds stillness in nature, a mother of two who parents with questions rather than answers, a volunteer mentor at NUS and a storyteller at NLB. Everything she does points back to the same belief: there is a light within every person. Her job is simply to help you find the switch.
Profile
Premesha McDonald (née Motha) is a coach who helps people find balance, clarity, and growth across the multiple roles they play in life, particularly those navigating demanding, fast-paced, and high-stakes careers.
For Premesha, balance is not about doing less, it’s about operating with clarity, control, and connection in the moments that matter most. In high-pressure environments, how you communicate with yourself and with others shapes how you lead, make decisions, and perform. She works with individuals to deepen that communication, understand what is driving their thoughts and emotions, and use that awareness to respond with intention rather than reaction. Through this, they create alignment across their roles, not by stepping away from ambition, but by engaging with it more consciously and effectively.
With over a decade of experience as an executive recruiter in the commodities and trading industry, Premesha understands what it means to operate in a high-pressure, performance-driven, and often cut-throat environment. Her career has been built around advising and connecting ambitious professionals across global trading, mining, and energy markets, individuals who thrive on challenge but often struggle to slow down and reconnect.
Her strength as a coach lies in creating a space that is both emotionally open and strategically grounded. She helps people allow emotions to surface, understand them, and move through them, so they can think clearly, act decisively, and perform at their best. Alongside this, she brings a structured lens: looking at the bigger picture, breaking it down into clear priorities, goals, and actions, enabling consistent progress and stronger outcomes.
Premesha’s passion for coaching stems from her own transformation. As a working mother balancing leadership, ambition, and self-expectation, coaching helped her find clarity in the chaos. It allowed her to deepen her relationships with her parents, husband and colleagues, communicate more openly, and feel a stronger sense of connection, gratitude, and alignment in her life. At the same time, she became more intentional in how she approached challenges, taking action with less hesitation, overcoming procrastination, and improving the quality of results she was able to achieve.
What inspires Premesha most is seeing people move from tension to alignment, from feeling stretched across roles to operating with clarity, connection, and purpose.
Her stand as a coach is to help people in demanding environments build sustainable success, creating careers and lives that feel not just accomplished, but deeply aligned and whole.

Haodan is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with a focus in helping people find their love for life. The love here refers to several things: a career, a job that one could be inspired by, passionate and firing up for, or a life partner whom you want to spend life with.
Tapping into her experience of feeling like she had nothing left for a long time, and to the point now where she could find and be in love with all aspects of her life, Haodan knows what’s needed to overcome the feelings of hopelessness and make it work. Her strength lies in her ability to resonate well with individuals who may be struggling in different aspects of their lives, and be able to provide a safe space for them to open up and explore what’s missing, and how to move forward.
Haodan’s passion for coaching and helping her clients runs deep because of what she has experienced for herself when she sought out coaching for the first time. She saw how the different aspects of her life and environment transformed as she began to gain clarity in just one domain of her life. As such, she saw the world in an entirely new lens which allowed her to overcome multiple barriers in her life, as well as achieving a speedy career progression with promotions in a row including during the Covid period, which was almost impossible then in her industry. And in the same period of time, Haodan has also met someone who’s almost everything she could wish for in a partner.
What inspires Haodan the most about coaching is the empowerment process – from being hopeless to hopeful in life. Her stand as a coach is to be able to empower more people to get the love they wish for in life.

She loves journaling, exploring mindfulness practices, spending time in nature, and travelling to places off the beaten path. Community and giving back are also close to her heart. She has volunteered with Singapore Red Cross and Metta Welfare Association, and now finds deeper purpose in her role as a Wish Granter, fulfilling the final wishes of the terminally ill.
At the heart of her work is a quiet but powerful belief: Always be kind, because behind every smile, someone might be fighting an unseen battle we know nothing of. This belief shapes the way she holds space, with empathy, gentleness.

Jermaine Tan is a coach-in-training and military leader who is passionate about helping individuals gain clarity, build confidence, and navigate personal and professional challenges. She is currently undergoing an ICF-aligned professional coach training programme, where she is developing her skills in facilitating meaningful and transformative conversations.
With a background in the military, Jermaine has extensive experience working in structured, high-pressure environments where expectations are high and individuals are often required to perform under stress. Through her leadership journey, she has observed that many capable individuals struggle with self-doubt, lack of recognition, and uncertainty about their future, despite their efforts and potential. This has inspired her to pursue coaching as a way to better support others beyond operational roles.
Jermaine’s coaching approach is client-centred and focused on creating a safe, non-judgemental space where individuals can openly explore their thoughts and challenges. She believes that every individual already has the answers within them, and her role as a coach is to guide them through thoughtful questioning, active listening, and reflection. Her sessions are structured yet flexible, allowing clients to gain clarity, uncover blind spots, and take purposeful steps forward.
Beyond her professional role, Jermaine is deeply committed to personal growth and continuous learning. She values authenticity, empathy, and meaningful connections, and strives to bring these qualities into every interaction.
Jermaine’s mission is to support individuals in breaking out of the “rat race,” gaining clarity on what truly matters to them, and moving forward with confidence and purpose.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
1) This sounds too good to be true. Is it really free?
Yes, it absolutely is! You can check out last year’s reviews on Google to hear directly from those who experienced it.
While this initiative is also a fundraiser for Ambulance Wish Singapore, there’s no obligation to donate after your session—it’s completely up to you. Our coaches are volunteering because coaching has transformed their own lives, and they’re passionate about paying it forward.
As an ECI community, we believe in making coaching accessible to more people, so whether you’re curious, seeking clarity, or just wondering what coaching can do for you—this is your chance to experience it, no strings attached.
2) Why do we need to attend this in person? Can we do it over Zoom?
We get it—meeting new people in person can sometimes feel awkward. But here’s why we designed this as an in-person experience:
Vibe Check & Chemistry Match – Coaching is deeply personal, and finding the right coach matters. Meeting face-to-face allows you to get a real sense of their energy, approach, and whether they’re the right fit for you. Even if you read through the coaches’ profiles, the real-life experience can feel completely different—just like how someone’s LinkedIn profile or resume might look great, but you only get a real sense of their personality and working style when you interact with them in person.
Immersive & Comfortable Setting – We know social settings can feel weird, so we’ve crafted a guided experience to make interactions easy and natural. You won’t be left wondering what to do—we’ve tested and refined this to ensure a smooth, comfortable process for everyone. This has been tested and proven, so don’t worry about arriving alone too!
Connect with Our Coaching Community – You’ll get the chance to mingle with different coaches, ask questions, and experience firsthand what coaching can offer—all in a supportive and welcoming space.
So, take the leap! We promise it’ll be worth it. 😊
3) What happens after I sign up on the link?
Once you sign up, you’ll receive a WhatsApp message with step-by-step instructions to the location. We know that trying something new—especially coaching—can feel a little awkward, so this helps ensure you feel comfortable and know exactly what to expect.
This also creates an open channel for communication, where you can ask us anything about the event, and we can provide updates or additional details as needed.
