DREAM SINGAPORE IS A BOLD SOCIAL MOVEMENT TO TOUCH, INSPIRE, AND EMPOWER 500 LIVES IN 30 DAYS THROUGH 15-MINUTE LASER COACHING SESSIONS.

Dream Singapore Project

Vision

To connect Singaporeans to their dreams to harness inner resilience and strength, enabling long-term intrinsic motivation towards a worthy goal.
To unleash the passion and potential of individuals to take inspired action, for their own dreams and growth, or for a worthy cause.
To empower each person to overcome fear and self-imposed limitations to move towards a creative and entrepreneurial society.

Our Founder, Kelvin Lim, sets a National & World Record!

If you wanted to change the world, where would you start? Early this year, a team of ambitious volunteers hatched a daring movement to bring coaching to the streets. The movement would enable the public to experience coaching so that they could reconnect to what truly matters. When our founder and principal coach, Kelvin, heard about their plan, he immediately jumped on board. And thus, Dream Singapore was born.
For 30 consecutive days in October, Dream Singapore set up shop in various locations across Singapore and engaged the public through 15-minute coaching sessions. People from all walks of life – students, working professionals, housewives, retirees – came from all over the island to be coached. By the end of 30 days, Kelvin had coached a total of 522 people, setting both National and World records for the feat.

Coaching: The Human Catalyst

For a society to change, individuals must change.

This project for social change employs life coaching as tool to liberate and motivate individuals, as coaching is a powerful process to transform human potential into real results.

Coaching makes use of the natural human inclination towards learning and growth, and using a deep and insightful conversation to unleash the intrinsic motivations of individuals. Coaching also removes any internal barriers or self-limiting beliefs, creating an empowered individual in touch with his passions.

It is a way to reach one’s highest potential, to manifest vision into results, to turn dreams into reality.

30-day Campaign for a Cause

Southeast Asia’s first Master Coach, Kelvin Lim, is an executive coach who charges up to $1,500/hour. He will be supporting the cause by holding free coaching sessions for 30 days, 6 hours each day, with each session lasting 15 minutes. Up to 1,000 people will be coached. We will also attempt to set a World Record for Most People Coached Over Consecutive Days by a Single Person. The sessions will be held in public locations across Singapore.

Dream Singapore hits the streets!

And that is what we’re about. Connecting to what truly matters.
What happens when a bunch of amateur singers and dancers take to the streets in search of their dreams?
We all have dreams. When we were young, we were idealistic and bright-eyed, full of innocence and hope, fully believing in all the possibilities of life. Then as we grew older, as we tried to reach for our dreams, we met with failures and difficulties. Sometimes the gap seemed too big. Sometimes the chasm seemed to deep to cross. But if you stop believing in your own dream, then who’s going to believe in your dream?
That’s why the #DREAMSG team, a bunch of foolish dreamers who still believe in the beauty of our dreams, went down to Orchard Road. We sang our hearts out and danced ourselves silly. We faced rejections as we approached people to write their dreams on our Dream Board.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Coaching is a collaborative partnership between a coach and a willing client, which connects at a deep personal level of their values, beliefs, and vision. Coaching enables—through a process of discovery, goal setting and specific action steps—the realization of extraordinary results. Coaching is inter-developmental in that the collaboration develops both the client as well as the coach.

Most people assume that coaches require field-specific knowledge in order to work with the client, as is with the case of mentors, trainers and consultants (i.e. they advise the client on what to do based on prior experience).
Coaches, however, do not advise.

Coaches enable a client’s self-discovery and empower them by drawing from their own creativity and resourcefulness to cause their results, thereby increasing their client’s ability, self-confidence and self-esteem in the process. Because clients are able to generate their own solutions and actions, they can repeat their success in the future.

A typical counselling program will take you through to your past, which might include some form of trauma, and healing of emotional pain or conflict within you or between you and others.

Its focus is in resolving the past, whereas the focus of coaching is on understanding the past as the context in which future goals are set.

A responsible coach knows when it is useful to look at the past in order to identify the source of their client’s limiting beliefs before moving into solutions, action, accountability and follow-through sessions.

You do not require any prior knowledge or skills to become a coach. Through our extensive experience in this field, we’ve found that the best coaches are curious, flexible and open to exploring different aspects of the client’s issue(s).

Other qualities that you can develop to become an exceptional coach are acute observational skills, self-awareness, self-discipline, and a sense of ownership and responsibility. Above all, a responsible coach has a real desire to make a difference in people’s lives, including their own

In the Professional Coach Training Program™ we equip you with the ability to use the ICF Core Competencies and principles successfully to coach any issue and client from any background. These universal coaching skills can be used in conjunction with any existing specializations which you have. For example, career consultants could become career coaches; someone with expertise in health and fitness could be a wellness coach.

Many of our trainees come from related developmental professions such as consulting and counseling. They have found coaching to be a valuable addition to their repertoire of existing skills, which gives them wider options and coverage when working with clients.

Coaching has gained wider recognition in recent years – but this also means that the industry is becoming largely unregulated. This raises the question; how do you know you’re getting the real deal? Our Professional Coach Training Program™ is accredited by the International Coach Federation, which is the leading global organization for coaches with more than 22,000 members in over 100 countries.
Upon completion of the relevant modules and meeting ICF criteria, you will gain a credential that will be recognized worldwide. This assures you and your clients of the quality of your work, and you’ll be more confident to know that your coaching and rack rates are benchmarked against an internationally acclaimed standard.
A face-to-face, interactive program like ours sets your training experience apart. The Professional Coach Training Program™ is the only Singapore-based Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) to offer you a complete face-to-face training in an all-inclusive program that comprises a start-to-finish coach training. These experiences cannot be achieved from web-based learning, which are great for knowledge, but lack the impact and immediacy of live feedback during your coaching dril ls, which will be crucial for coach training.
Coaching programs can be easily found in the market, but a valuable takeaway you’ll get from us cannot be bought – that is a community of people. We have an alumni of graduate coaches and coach-trainees where you’ll get most of your life-changing moments with the exchange of thoughts and experience. The dynamism in our programs are also why our trainees are able to get credentialed in half the industry time.
You will receive hands-on practicum and exclusive attention—that’s why our classes are capped at a maximum of 20 participants to allow each trainee to receive adequate attention, while capitalizing on the diverse backgrounds of the group members. We’ve found that on-the-ground experience and real-time feedback from trainers are the best ways our participants can entrench their learning.
Absolutely! Some of our course graduates have set up their own businesses and are successful practicing coaches. While we do not mentor our trainees in this area, there are many online resources and forums that share the know-hows of doing so. That said, you’ll find that because of your training with ECI, you’re equipped with the necessary skills to deliver an exceptional coaching experience with your clients with proven results and ROI, leading to increased referrals for your business.
The ICF offers credentials at three levels:

  • Associate Certified Coach (ACC) – 100 client coaching hours
  • Professional Certified Coach (PCC) – 500 client coaching hours
  • Master Certified Coach (MCC) – 2,500 client coaching hours

At ECI, we are able to prepare you up to the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation. This requires you to complete all 4 modules of the Professional Coach Training Program and pass a 30-minute coaching exam.

If you wish to get credentialed at the ACC level only, you can go through the ASCTH route, where you complete Modules 1 and 2 of the Professional Coach Training Program and receive 3 hours of mentor coaching. The ASCTH route does not qualify you for a PCC credential.

Each credential level is valid for 3 years. Renewals are possible with Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units.

Detailed requirements for the different credential levels can be found on the ICF website.
