TruCoach Methodology

Many programs simply “check the boxes”. But if you’re looking for something more, something exceptional; and you want to be the kind of coach who often leads their clients to profound moments where paradigms shift, you’re at the right place. At ECI, our students go far beyond memorizing and imitating, they take on the heart & mind of a coach. Our TruCoach™ Methodology equips you with deep coaching intuition and skills you can use to guide others to real and lasting change.
Become a transformative coach.

Become a TruCoach™

You know you want to help people. Maybe you’ve just started to coach others, or you may have spent years working with clients. Either way, you feel this is what you are meant to do. You can make a deep and lasting impact in your clients’ lives as a TruCoach. More than just a coach, a TruCoach helps clients dive deep into their inner world. They see themselves through new eyes. Paradigms will shift in their hearts and minds. You will awaken their ability to live more conscious, responsible, and meaningful lives.
It takes a special kind of training to learn the deep coaching intuition and skills you’ll need to achieve results like these. And that is what we offer you at ECI.
At ECI, our goal is nothing less than changing the world, one coach at a time. We have spent more than 15 years refining our TruCoach Method, and training TruCoaches to bring it to the world.
If you wish to change lives through coaching, we invite you to consider becoming a TruCoach.

A TruCoach is personally transformed

Changing your clients and the world for the better begins by embracing your own continuous personal transformation. We’ll encourage you to start the process on your first training weekend with us. Your first days at ECI will be an opportunity to set aside what you think coaching is. To embrace what you are learning with a “beginner’s mind”. To understand yourself from a new perspective.
Continue to ask fundamental questions of yourself such as “who am I?” and “where am I going?” as you go through your coaching journey. The more you dedicate yourself to personal transformation, the more transformative your coaching can become. As you shed your biases and blind spots, you’ll be freed to coach others even more effectively.
A TruCoach creates change through transformational coaching
A TruCoach uses transformational coaching, which reconnects each clients’ core self with the actions they take in the world. The triangle of core/manifestation/impression is the realm of the TruCoach. A TruCoach can help others understand their core self, and manifest it into the world in a way the world can accept.
The systematic TruCoach Method enables the results of your coaching to be coherent and lasting. Significant results are typically achieved in just a few sessions. If you are already working in a helping role, here is how transformational coaching can add to what you’re already doing:
  • Counseling - Transformational coaching will add a forward-looking element to your practice.
  • Health & wellness coaching - Transformational coaching will supplement the intellectual and emotional side of your coaching.
  • Corporate coaching - Transformational coaching will help you dive deeper into the underlying issue that is causing a situation or problem. It will give you the ability to not only change outward behavior, but shift the culture of your team or company.
A TruCoach never stops learning
A TruCoach is on a life-long learning adventure — learning is a core part of who they are. Just because they finish their coaching training program, the learning doesn’t end! Their never-ending pursuit of mastery deepens their coaching practice so it never becomes stale or boring.
Here are a few ways ECI can help you continue to grow as a coach after earning your coaching certification:
  • Review training modules for free and learn new applications on how to apply your coaching tools to different clients
  • Be coached at Live Your Mark for more personal transformation
  • Hire a mentor coach from ECI to sharpen your coaching skills
  • Attend alumni events to learn from others, and share your experiences
A TruCoach makes an impact on the world
As you pursue personal and coaching mastery, you will become the kind of coach who often leads clients into profound moments where their paradigms shift. Seeing these changes in your clients is one of the greatest rewards of being a TruCoach. It can motivate you to learn yet more, and then help yet more. And the result of this cycle? You’ll do your part to change the world.
At ECI, just like other coaching institutes, we believe strongly in the power of coaching to change individual lives, and through them, to impact the world. That’s why we not only work with individuals and train coaches, but we undertake projects that spread the word about what coaching can do to more people:
  • The “Leap” coaching movie
  • Dream Singapore project to coach 522 people in one month
We imagine a world where people are conscious enough to be fundamentally responsible for their behavior, words, and thoughts.  We imagine a world where people are heard and feel safe. We imagine a world that is changed, one coach at a time. Whether you hope to coach dozens or thousands, we invite you to dream of the good you can do as a TruCoach!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Coaching is a collaborative partnership between a coach and a willing client, which connects at a deep personal level of their values, beliefs, and vision. Coaching enables—through a process of discovery, goal setting and specific action steps—the realization of extraordinary results. Coaching is inter-developmental in that the collaboration develops both the client as well as the coach.

Most people assume that coaches require field-specific knowledge in order to work with the client, as is with the case of mentors, trainers and consultants (i.e. they advise the client on what to do based on prior experience).
Coaches, however, do not advise.

Coaches enable a client’s self-discovery and empower them by drawing from their own creativity and resourcefulness to cause their results, thereby increasing their client’s ability, self-confidence and self-esteem in the process. Because clients are able to generate their own solutions and actions, they can repeat their success in the future.

A typical counselling program will take you through to your past, which might include some form of trauma, and healing of emotional pain or conflict within you or between you and others.
Its focus is in resolving the past, whereas the focus of coaching is on understanding the past as the context in which future goals are set.

A responsible coach knows when it is useful to look at the past in order to identify the source of their client’s limiting beliefs before moving into solutions, action, accountability and follow-through sessions.

You do not require any prior knowledge or skills to become a coach. Through our extensive experience in this field, we’ve found that the best coaches are curious, flexible and open to exploring different aspects of the client’s issue(s).

Other qualities that you can develop to become an exceptional coach are acute observational skills, self-awareness, self-discipline, and a sense of ownership and responsibility. Above all, a responsible coach has a real desire to make a difference in people’s lives, including their own

In the Professional Coach Training Program™ we equip you with the ability to use the ICF Core Competencies and principles successfully to coach any issue and client from any background. These universal coaching skills can be used in conjunction with any existing specializations which you have. For example, career consultants could become career coaches; someone with expertise in health and fitness could be a wellness coach.

Many of our trainees come from related developmental professions such as consulting and counseling. They have found coaching to be a valuable addition to their repertoire of existing skills, which gives them wider options and coverage when working with clients.

Coaching has gained wider recognition in recent years – but this also means that the industry is becoming largely unregulated. This raises the question; how do you know you’re getting the real deal? Our Professional Coach Training Program™ is accredited by the International Coach Federation, which is the leading global organization for coaches with more than 22,000 members in over 100 countries.
Upon completion of the relevant modules and meeting ICF criteria, you will gain a credential that will be recognized worldwide. This assures you and your clients of the quality of your work, and you’ll be more confident to know that your coaching and rack rates are benchmarked against an internationally acclaimed standard.
A face-to-face, interactive program like ours sets your training experience apart. The Professional Coach Training Program™ is the only Singapore-based Accredited Coach Training Program (ACTP) to offer you a complete face-to-face training in an all-inclusive program that comprises a start-to-finish coach training. These experiences cannot be achieved from web-based learning, which are great for knowledge, but lack the impact and immediacy of live feedback during your coaching drills, which will be crucial for coach training.
Coaching programs can be easily found in the market, but a valuable takeaway you’ll get from us cannot be bought – that is a community of people. We have an alumni of graduate coaches and coach-trainees where you’ll get most of your life-changing moments with the exchange of thoughts and experience. The dynamism in our programs are also why our trainees are able get credentialed in half the industry time.
You will receive hands-on practicum and exclusive attention—that’s why our classes are capped at a maximum of 20 participants to allow each trainee to receive adequate attention, while capitalizing on the diverse backgrounds of the group members. We’ve found that on-the-ground experience and real-time feedback from trainers are the best ways our participants can entrench their learning.
Absolutely! Some of our course graduates have set up their own businesses and are successful practicing coaches. While we do not mentor our trainees in this area, there are many online resources and forums that share the know-hows of doing so. That said, you’ll find that because of your training with ECI, you’re equipped with the necessary skills to deliver an exceptional coaching experience with your clients with proven results and ROI, leading to increased referrals for your business.
The ICF offers credentials at three levels:

  • Associate Certified Coach (ACC) – 100 client coaching hours
  • Professional Certified Coach (PCC) – 500 client coaching hours
  • Master Certified Coach (MCC) – 2,500 client coaching hours

At ECI, we are able to prepare you up to the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation. This requires you to complete all 4 modules of the Professional Coach Training Program and pass a 30-minute coaching exam.

If you wish to get credentialed at the ACC level only, you can go through the ASCTH route, where you complete Modules 1 and 2 of the Professional Coach Training Program and receive 3 hours of mentor coaching. The ASCTH route does not qualify you for a PCC credential.

Each credential level is valid for 3 years. Renewals are possible with Continuing Coach Education (CCE) units.

Detailed requirements for the different credential levels can be found on the ICF website.
